I love hemp, it is such a great fabric. It doesn’t require any pesticides to grow and it is a strong fibre, getting softer the more it is washed. So it gets ‘worn in’ rather than ‘worn out’ which is great for children!

Natural hemp does tend to absorb marks so I prefer to dye it with solar dyes, using tie-dye and batik methods. I also like decorating it with applique and hand embroidery in an assortment of fabrics including new, recycled, vintage and other interesting textures.
